The Queens Hotel

The Queens Hotel commissioned me to create two large-scale window installations to be exhibited at Leeds Train Station. Wanting to celebrate the new refurbishment while commemorating the hotel’s heritage, my design aims to transport the viewer back in time while also looking forward to the new changes. For example, one of the windows depicts a bar. Half the bar is set in 1937 when the hotel was first built and the other half in 2021 for the new opening.
Every element within my design has a direct link to the Queens Hotel; shapes and patterns intertwined in the designs are taken from the Art Deco interior architecture and exterior façade.
