Looking to transform their festival entrance, We Out Here commissioned a group of Leeds-based mural artists to paint live during their programmed weekend. Colourful and eye-catching, the murals were a brilliant tool to create a welcoming first impression for visitors, while also contributing to the schedule of live events.
It was a great experience! People walking by would stop and express how much they enjoyed seeing the mural unfold colour by colour, or ask questions about the process and design.
It was an exciting opportunity to meet other artists and musicians while attending the wide variety of acts.
The people in the design are based on artists from the festival’s line-up. Can you guess who they are?
… they are inspired by CKTRL, Eva Lazarus and Kahil El Zabar - I was lucky enough to see them perform, which was super exciting. My thoughts are with you and your loved ones Jaimie Branch.
